Chances are you've probably heard of breast augmentation and breast implants, they have been around for decades. The real question is: have you ever heard of Gummy Bear breast implants? Also known as the Natrelle 410 implants, the Gummy Bear implant is an alternative to round breast implants that are truer to the shape of a woman's breast. It is made of a highly cohesive gel and is an advancement in silicone gel technology.

These breast implants are the most advanced generation of silicone implants available today and have a consistency that was not previously available in any other type of implant. The gummy bear implants received their nickname because where most silicone gel implants have a consistency similar to honey; the Natrelle 410's have a consistency much like Gummy Bears.

The silicone in the gummy bear implant does not flow like most other implants. The form stays stable and has a tear-drop shape to look more natural to a woman's anatomy. It will maintain its shape in all positions because of the gel consistency. These implants are more natural looking than any other implant available today.

Grand Rapids plastic surgeon, Dr. Brad Bengtson, was one the select few Plastic Surgeons in the U.S. to offer the Natrelle 410 Gummy Bear implant. In February 2013 the FDA approved the implant and Dr. Bengtson had the privilege to develop and patent the Cohesive Gel Implant Selector tool all surgeons use along with his co-developers Dr. Adams and Teitelbaum. As the lead investigator in the FDA-approved study for the Allergan Natrelle implants, Dr. Bengtson had the privilege to develop the surgeon educational curriculum for Allergan. Also, upon approval from the FDA, Dr. Bengtson was selected to write the curriculum to educate Plastic Surgeons on how to use this implant. He is a National Leader in some of today's most innovative research in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Bengtson was also awarded two Tiffany Awards by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery for his work in High Resolution Ultrasound examining gel breast implants and his research in the differences between silicone gel and saline implants.
