Aging sometimes causes stretched-out skin to settle into wrinkles even while the face is at rest. Other times, tiny lines and deeper creases develop due to volume loss in the deeper layers. In more severe stages of aging, the skin droops down as it loses its support structures, and the face becomes flatter and hollow, no longer retaining its youthful elevation and tightness.

BOTOX works to counter the problems that specifically occur due to overactive muscles that pull on the outer layer of skin to make facial expressions. JUVÉDERM fillers, on the other hand, add volume to the “gaps” created when moisture, fat, and connective proteins diminish. These injectables are smooth gels made up of moisture-binding hyaluronic acid molecules. There are a range of JUVÉDERM options, each of which has a unique application - typically for adding volume to the middle or lower part of the face. Different from its botulinum toxin-derived partner, JUVÉDERM can “sculpt” the face by augmenting and lifting select areas.
