Injectable treatments are often lumped together, but they don't all do the same thing. BOTOX and the JUVÉDERM collection of fillers both target common symptoms of aging on facial skin, but the similarities end there. Yet, when these powerful injectables are used together, they can bring about even more stellar results than they can as standalone treatments. If you're interested in knowing more about BOTOX cost considerations, risks, preparation tips, and aftercare details, The Bengtson Center team is here to help.

Aging sometimes causes stretched-out skin to settle into wrinkles even while the face is at rest. Other times, tiny lines and deeper creases develop due to volume loss in the deeper layers. In more severe stages of aging, the skin droops down as it loses its support structures, and the face becomes flatter and hollow, no longer retaining its youthful elevation and tightness.

BOTOX works to counter the problems that specifically occur due to overactive muscles that pull on the outer layer of skin to make facial expressions. It is a solution containing small, safe amounts of a “chemical neuromodulator.” If you want to reduce lines at the top of the face, including crow's feet, forehead lines, and elevens, BOTOX is the gold standard. It also improves the look of dynamic wrinkles on most other areas of the face and neck.

JUVÉDERM fillers, on the other hand, add volume to the “gaps” created when moisture, fat, and connective proteins diminish. These injectables are smooth gels made up of moisture-binding hyaluronic acid molecules. There are a range of JUVÉDERM options, each of which has a unique application - typically for adding volume to the middle or lower part of the face. Different from its botulinum toxin-derived partner, JUVÉDERM can “sculpt” the face by augmenting and lifting select areas.

So how do these two work together?

When administered as part of a single treatment plan by one of the Bengtson Center's Master Injectors, BOTOX and JUVÉDERM can create total facial rejuvenation by addressing several areas instead of just one. Smoothing out only the forehead, for example, can create the unintended effect of calling attention to other areas of the face that still show visible signs of aging, such as the area around the mouth.

Don't let your face appear like different parts are stuck in different decades! Talk with one of our Aesthetic Experts to find out how combining treatments can give you a unified look of rejuvenation.
